April 26th, 2024 is Arbor Day, and it is your day to get a free tree if you live in Fishers, Indiana! Fishers Parks will be giving away free trees at the Fishers Agripark on Florida Road starting at 4:00 p.m. and going until the run out or 6:00 p.m., whichever is later. This parks department will be giving out red oak and white oak trees on a first-come, first-served basis. You’ll be able to get the trees at the event barn.
Trees are limited to one per family. These trees are seedlings, so they are small. However, they are a fun tree to plan with a child so they can watch the tree grow over the years. The red oaks can grow to be 90 to 140 feet tall over time where as white oaks (which are a hard wood tree) grow from 50 to 100 feet tall.
